Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia.

Book Review: Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia

By Elizabeth Gilbert

Elizabeth Gilbert is a #1 New York Times Bestselling Author.  Elizabeth worked as a journalist at GQ for 5 years.

Other books Elizabeth has written are: Pilgrims, Stern Men and The Last American Man.

At the beginning of this book, Elizabeth is going through a nasty divorce and has fallen into a deep depression.  She decides that she has to change something, so she decides to find joy in life by going on a spiritual quest through 3  countries in one year.

First, Elizabeth visits Italy for four months.  There she tries to find pleasure through food and beautiful scenery and language.  Next, Elizabeth visits India for another four months.  There she tries to find devotion through meditation and yoga while staying at an Ashram.  Lastly, she visits the Indonesian Island of Bali to find balance between wordly enjoyment and divine transcendence.  There she works with an old medicine man, but finds more than she expected on the island.

I  give this a 8 out of 10 if you are looking for something inspiring and witty to read
